LAPD Arrests and Los Angeles County Custody
When someone is arrested by LAPD, they may initially be processed and held at an LAPD jail facility. Depending on the charges and circumstances, the person may later be transferred into Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department custody at a county jail facility. Not every person arrested by LAPD will immediately appear in the Los Angeles County inmate locator — there may be a delay between booking and when the record becomes available.
