The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department operates one of the largest jail systems in the United States. A person arrested in Los Angeles County may be held at a station jail, a county custody facility, or transferred to another agency depending on the charges, medical needs, and court requirements. Do not assume a person is at a specific facility without verifying through an official custody record.
Inmate Reception Center (IRC)

Many adult male inmates accepted into LASD county custody are processed through the IRC. Processing includes identity verification, medical screening, classification, and housing assignment.
Twin Towers Correctional Facility (TTCF)

Twin Towers houses inmates with medical and mental-health needs. On-site video visitation is available by appointment.
Men's Central Jail (MCJ)

One of the largest jails in the United States. Houses sentenced and pre-trial male inmates.
Century Regional Detention Facility (CRDF)
11705 S. Alameda Street, Lynwood, CA 90262
Women accepted into LASD custody are generally processed and housed through CRDF.
Pitchess Detention Center — North Facility

Los Angeles General Medical Center Inmate Services

Provides medical care for inmates requiring hospital-level treatment. Inmates may be temporarily housed here during medical treatment.

LASD patrol stations maintain temporary holding facilities. Persons arrested by LASD may be held at a station jail before transfer to a county facility or release.
