Los Angeles County Jails, house individuals who have been arrested and are awaiting trial, as well as those who have been convicted of a crime and sentenced to serve time in jail. While in custody, inmates are subject to a set of rules and regulations designed to maintain order and safety within the facility.
Upon arrival at the jail, inmates are processed, which includes being searched, fingerprinted, and photographed. They are then given a uniform and assigned to a housing unit.
